Oleg Pospelov’s Solo Exhibition "Colección Sentimental" Opens at Centro de Arte La Recova in Santa Cruz de Tenerife
From August 27 to September 27, 2026, the Centro de Arte La Recova (Sala L) in Santa Cruz de Tenerife will host "Colección Sentimental," a solo exhibition by Oleg Pospelov. The project is organized with the support of the Ayuntamiento de Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the Organismo Autónomo de Cultura.
The showcase gathers more than 130 works created between 2023 and 2026, integrating stand-alone pieces alongside four major graphic series. Executed in mixed techniques, the artworks combine author's printmaking, linocut, acrylic monoprint, and manually applied leaf gilding.
"Colección Sentimental" explores memory and local context through a dialogue between abstract graphics and printed paper artifacts gathered from the island's flea markets. The artist transforms remnants of the past—pages from a 1950s typing manual and mid-century home magazines—into a physical substrate for a new abstract visual language.
By superimposing the sharp geometry of linocut and the fluid textures of acrylic monoprint onto historical printed matter, the process creates a palimpsest effect and visual archive. The exhibition serves as an endeavor to capture fleeting time, examine the cause-and-effect relationships of form, and assemble a personal registry of visual states—ranging from a hundred variations of a single print to an extensive collection of miniatures.
