Old newspapers don't die — they become art.
"Consequences" is a series of mixed media works based on pages from the Santa Cruz evening newspaper La Tarde, dated August 5, 1972. Archival material rescued from oblivion and recontextualised: debates about an airport in the south of the island, an advertisement for Roy cigarettes at 8 pesetas a pack, the editorial office phone numbers — all of this has become a visual layer that lost its informational value and gained a new one: aesthetic. Some works contain typographic overprints made with equipment of the same era — there is even a small chance that the very same type was used to print the original issue. The text no longer makes sense. It has become ornament.
The work is sent without a frame, the cost of sending the work within the EU borders and USA is included in the price. If you need this work with a frame - please write to me, but remember that sending the work with a frame will cost extra money.
